The 2008 APRU (Association of Pacific Rim University - http://www.apru.org/ ) Symposium on Multihazards Around the Pacific Rim will be held at the University of California, Davis, during August 21-24, 2008. UC Davis has recently been designated as the site of the 2008 symposium by the APRU Chair and governing council (http://www.apru.org/calendar/) following a proposal by UC Davis Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef. To date, there have been three previous symposia on Earthquakes and Tsunamis: during Aug 31-Sept 2, 2005 in Kyoto, Japan; during April 21-22, 2006 in San Francisco, CA; and during June 21-22, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Symposium is being organized under the auspices of the California Hazards Institute.
