On Tuesday, January 15, the California Institute for Hazard Research held a workshop at the University of California Center in Sacramento, California. The subject of the workshop was wildfire statistics. Speakers at the workshop included Professor Bruce Malanud, King's College, London; Professor Richard Minnich, University of California Riverside; and Dr. Rodman Linn, Los Alamos National Laboratory. Following the lectures, an open discussion touched on many of the points exposed by the lectures. Participants in the discussion included not only the speakers, but also a number of legislative staff personnel from the offices of the California State Assembly and California State Senate.
