Welcome
Welcome to the home page of the California Institute for Hazards Research
The California Institute for Hazards Research was founded in October 2006 in order to better coordinate natural hazards research across the University of California system. Research areas for the institute include the understanding and prediction of natural hazards and the ways to reduce their impact on society. The institute will collaborate with local, state, and federal governments and organizations on natural disaster research, education, and preparedness.
